It was a spectacular first full week for our Eagles. Our students are adjusting well to their new classrooms and exemplifying our EastLake traits of being respectful, responsible, safe, and kind. We applaud your efforts and support at home with the new routines at the beginning of the year.
Our TK/kindergarten students will be on a regular schedule this week.
- TK time Monday-Thursday is 8:00-2:15 pm and 8:00-12:45 pm on Fridays.
- Kinder time Monday-Thursday is 8:15-2:30 pm and 8:15-1:00 pm on Fridays
- As a reminder, traffic will increase at dismissal time with the additional families on campus. Thank you for following the traffic procedures.
A few traffic reminders when on campus:
- Please pull all the way forward and drop off next to the yellow curb.
- No unattended vehicles are allowed on any yellow or red-painted curbs
Thank you to everyone for following all traffic rules, it is for the safety of our students. We are so appreciative of everyone’s patience as we navigate the arrival and dismissal of over 550 students.
Cell Phone & Smart Watch Policy

As a reminder, cellular devices use during school hours is prohibited. Students are NOT allowed to keep cell phones on them, in desks, or in their backpacks during the school day. Students may only use a cellular device before or after school for the purpose of contacting a parent/guardian/the person responsible for picking them up. EastLake is not responsible for lost, stolen, or broken cell devices brought to school. On-campus violation of any of the terms of the cell phone permission will result in the confiscation and revocation of cell phone privileges. The parent must come to the office to pick up the phone from the principal. Read this article about giving tweens cell phones.
This year, if your child will be bringing a cell phone, or wearing a smartwatch, you MUST fill out THIS FORM. Please be sure to go over this with your child so they are clear about the policy. This policy is for the safety of all students and staff. A student may have a cell phone/smart watch on campus only if the parent/guardian has filled out the form.
Volunteer Information

This week we will welcome our volunteers back to campus. We are so grateful for the countless hours you spend volunteering for our community. Please submit the form below. Once all necessary paperwork is completed, you can begin volunteering on August 2nd. Be sure to reach out to your child’s teacher to arrange an appropriate volunteer time suitable for the class.

Home Access Center

The Chula Vista Elementary School District utilizes the Home Access Center (HAC) to share Student Score Reports for the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) and English Learner Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) with parents and guardians. The HAC allows parents and guardians to securely review, download, and save student results quickly and conveniently. Last week an email was sent out by our superintendent sharing important information on accessing your child’s 2022-23 state testing reports in HAC. The letter is available for review, as well as instructions on how to log in to the Home Access Center. If you continue to have trouble logging in, please contact our front office.

Crocs on Campus
As fashion trends change, we find ourselves having to adjust our dress policy. Please note that open-toe shoes of any kind are never permitted on campus for safety reasons. While Crocs are not open-toe, they are proving to be quite dangerous if engaging in recess games and PE. Beginning on July 31st, Crocs will not be permitted IF students are playing recess games or participating in VAPA PE. Students may wear Crocs to school but will NOT be permitted to play any of the designated recess or PE games while wearing them. We suggest packing a pair of tennis shoes. We feel this is a fair compromise that will ensure students stay safe on campus.
