We Tip

The Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) is proud to introduce a new anonymous reporting program called WeTip which launched on November 1, 2023. WeTip will enhance safety at CVESD while actively empowering students, staff, and community members to maintain a safe and secure environment. The WeTip link to the anonymous report can be found here.

Key Points About WeTip:

  • CVESD encourages all students, staff, and community members to be vigilant and report concerns – if you see something, say something.
  • Whether it’s a safety concern or any situation that raises suspicion, it can be reported quickly and easily online or through a phone call or text message.
  • Reporting a tip is easy, anonymous, and confidential.

Federal funds are provided to the school district based on the number of students enrolled in our schools whose parents/guardians reside or work on federal property or are on active duty in the military. All families are asked to complete the form, even if they are not active duty or living on federal property. Forms were sent home on Monday, November 6, 2023. Please make sure to return the yellow form as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone who has already acted swiftly and turned in the forms.

See below for more information about the forms, including how to complete the forms. Thank you!

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

Students need to be at school every day and on time. Please make sure your child is here by 8:10 a.m. and lined up on the blacktop (1st-6th grade) or by the classroom (TK-kinder). Let’s continue to improve our attendance! If your child must be out sick, please contact the office at 619-421-4798 or raquel.serratosgarc@cvesd.org to excuse the absence. Remember to bring a doctor’s note. Vacations, dentist, and doctor visits should be scheduled during our breaks whenever possible. If your child misses school, they are missing out on important learning! Our school staff will be meeting with parents/guardians, calling home, and doing home visits for students who are chronically absent.

Our TK-6th grade attendance average: 94% (Goal is 96% or higher)
Yearly to date (7/19/23-11/3/23) average attendance: 95.1% (Goal is 96%)
Please visit this page for helpful resources on improving your child’s attendance: https://www.cvesd.org/parents/attendance-information.
